Adam and I enjoyed Casselberry showing of "Think Pink". The Casselberry ArtHouse is in such a serene setting, a converted house on a lake that is full of charm, both because of the location and the crew who keeps things up and running. Casselberry parks and art department even offers all kinds of art classes to take right there.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. They are donating 20% of each item sold to the Breast Cancer cause. There are interesting items on display and the scenery is wonderfully peaceful. I wish I had brought a fishing pole, the lake looked quite tempting.
If you get a chance and are going up or down 17/92, north and south between 436 and 434, it's a bit closer to 436, near the Home Depot. Turn on Melody where the police headquarters sits. The building is behind the Police. It's a little jaunt maybe in between running errands even, and if you are lucky like I am, you have a son who treats you to lunch at Toojays!
I did stop later at SCC for the reception of Katy Bergman Casell, she had hand made tiles with a mid-eastern flavor to them. It was a small display, but quite colorful and intricate and very political. You could see personality baked in with the tile patterns. It looked like a lot of work glazing and re-glazing.
The artist was not there, but did meet the new Curator. They will be having a showing of home grown artists in 2008, so I will be sending some work that way for sure. Will keep you posted as to next art venture. One thing for sure, Florida is full of talent.
